The 2015 regular local elections played an important role in completing the process of po- litical renewal after the change of power in Ukraine at the beginning of 2014.
In contrast to the early Presidential and Parliamentary elections, the local elections in Ukraine were held within the statutory period, which potentially created conditions for the high quality of legislative regulation and preliminary preparation for the proper conduct of the election process. The coalition agreement concluded by the parliamentary factions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the VIII convocation guaranteed the full reform of legis- lation on local elections in the first quarter of 2015.
